Consul General bids farewell to Chairman of People's Committee of HCMC on the completion of his tenure
On the afternoon of August 29, 2016, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City received Mr. Omar Al-Qenaei, Consul General of the State of Kuwait who came to bid farewell on the completion of his tenure in Ho Chi Minh City.
On behalf of the authority of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong congratulated and highly appreciated the efforts that Mr. Consul General has made to contribute to enhancing the cooperation relationship between Kuwait and Vietnam in general, Kuwait and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, representing in the success of the high-level visit by His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait to Vietnam in May 2016, and that Kuwait recognized Vietnam as a market economy. The Chairman specially thanked the Consul General for his charity activities as well his efforts to mobilize ODA aids from Kuwait for the development projects in Vietnam. The Chairman wished the Consul General of Kuwait great success in his future career and also desired that on his new position, the Consul General would continue to make active contributions to strengthening the relationship between Kuwait and Vietnam, introducing Kuwaiti investors to Ho Chi Minh City to look for investment and cooperation opportunities.
The Consul General of Kuwait Mr. Omar Al-Qenaei thanked the support of the leaders and relevant authorities of Ho Chi Minh City for himself as well as the activities of the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait, expressed his good sentiments to the friendly people of Vietnam during his last 4 years in Ho Chi Minh City. The Consul General also believed that the achievements in the relationship between Kuwait and Vietnam in recent years would be the basis to continue to enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries to a higher level in a near future.
On this occasion, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thanh Phong awarded the Badge of Ho Chi Minh City to Mr. Omar Al-Qenaei as a mark of honour to his contributions to the friendship relations between Kuwait and Vietnam.
