On 16 April 2013, Mr. Omar Al-Qenaei, Consul General handed a grant of 24,496 USD (twenty four thousand four hundred and ninety six US dollars) to Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung, Vice Director of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Kien Giang Province.

The grant is provided by the Government of the State of Kuwait for the Center for Social Protection of Kien Giang Province and will be used to expand and renovate a medical room as well as to purchase essential medical equipment for first aid and emergency treatment at the center.

The center is currently accommodating and taking care of 80 weak elderly persons, 60 disabled children with serious sickness and 15 persons with mental diseases.

Mr. Omar Al-Qenaei said that the Consulate General of the State Kuwait in HCMC was doing its best to contribute to helping the poor and the underprivileged not only in HCMC but also other provinces in the Mekong Delta.
