On the afternoon of 6 April 2012, the new Kuwaiti Consul General, Mr. Omar Sulaiman Al-Qenaei paid a courtersy call on the Chairman of the People's Committe of HCMC, Mr. Le Hoang Quan. 

At the meeting, the New Consul General said he was very honoured to assume duties in the city named after the greatest leader of Vietnam. He also expressed his affection for the friendly and dynamic HCMC. The Consul General confirmed that he would make all efforts to further enhance the friendly cooperation betwwen the two countries, especially in economic and trade sector. 

The Chairman of the People's Committe of HCMC, Mr. Le Hoang Quan expressed his sincere thanks to the Consul General for his deep feeling for President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular. He affirmed that the People's Committee of HCMC was willing to give support to the Consul General so that he could well fulfill his duties in HCMC and thus bring the friendly cooperation and relations between Vietnam and Kuwait to a new high.
